Avondhu House and Avon Hall
MacLaren designed and had built two adjoining villas, Avondhu House and Avon Hall, in Bo'ness Road, Grangemouth. They were both built in 1877-1878.
Avon Hall was built in 1877 for John Fairley, a wealthy timber merchant. Avondhu House was commissioned by MacLaren's cousin, Daniel Alexander MacLaren, another timber merchant and entrepreneur.
